British researchers recently reported that the use of modern scientific methods to examine the effect of traditional Chinese acupuncture and found that the corresponding parts of the brain it can cause neurological changes, which will help analyze the effectiveness of acupuncture theory. Institutions such as the UK University of York researchers in the new one the U.S. academic journal, “Brain Research”, reported that 17 subjects received the hands of Hoku acupuncture, and also accepted the brain scan. Hoku is located in back of the hand below the tiger's mouth. The researchers found that those who think that there is “get air” feel of the subjects in dealing with the pain-related parts of the brain of a reduction of neural activity occurs.
“get air” refers to the process of acupuncture in patients with acid produced, hemp, distension feeling, is considered an important condition for achieving the best effect of acupuncture. If the acupuncture patients did not “get air” and just feel pain, then acupuncture effect may be poor. This study found that only a feeling of pain in patients with brain-related parts of the complex changes in neural occur: some parts of the neural activity increased, while others have weakened parts of the neural activity. Hugh McPherson participated in the study, said the study provides scientific evidence that acupuncture can cause the brain to produce some specific changes, which helps to understand the complex role of the principles of acupuncture and moxibustion.
